Angel Graduating from Seminole State College!
Angel Promoted to Office Manager!
The whole Flourish in Place family congratulates Angel Herd this month for two huge accomplishments. While working full-time as our Human Resource Manager and Scheduler, Angel successfully completed her coursework for an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Seminole State College. She will be graduating later this month with high honors. Due to her integrity, expertise, and hard work, Angel has been promoted to Office Manager. Angel has a heart-felt passion for seniors. Kim and I are so proud of Angel and grateful to be helping her build her career!
I interviewed Angel about her college experience.
Melanie: What was your major or course of study, Angel?
Angel: Business Administration.
Melanie: What class did you enjoy the most and why?
Angel: The class I enjoyed the most was Quickbooks Accounting. Despite my initial apprehension towards numbers and math, I found joy in learning how to set up a business’s accounting for success. I also had a really informative professor who was extremely amazing and helpful along the way.
Melanie: What course did you like the least and why?
Angel: The class I liked the least was Business Math. I was extremely nervous due to my fear of math, which made me doubt myself with each assignment submission. However, I managed to pass the class with a high A grade, which was surprising given my initial apprehensions.
Melanie: What awards, recognitions, etc., did you receive as a student?
Angel: I have been recognized on the President’s List at least 5 times and on the Dean’s List twice.I also became a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society in the Spring Semester of 2023 and in December 2023 I received my technical certification for Business Operations.
Melanie: Do you plan to continue your studies?
Angel: Yes, I do plan to continue my studies in Business and Information Management B.S. I plan to begin classes in the summer 2024.
Melanie: How have you used what you’ve learned in your college studies to help you in your work at Flourish?
Angel: I believe my college studies have equipped me with valuable skills and knowledge that have directly contributed to my success at Flourish In Place Home Care Solutions. They have empowered me to take on significant responsibilities and have led me to promotions, first as a Human Resource Manager and recently as a Business Office Manager. Through this journey of balancing full-time studies and employment, I’ve learned that the sky’s the limit, and with dedication, anything is possible.

Your unwavering support throughout my entire college journey has been truly uplifting. I began college a year after joining Flourish In Place, and I cannot overstate how amazing the support I’ve received from all of you has been. Thank you for your encouragement and belief in me.
