Keeping Traditions Sparks Memories in Many Directions

In this picture, my mother’s creche sits atop the chest my grandparents brought home from China.  The tradition of setting out the figures in the nativity scene play an important role in our family’s Christmas tradition.  Whether you celebrate Christmas or another religious or ethnic holiday, remember to keep tradition foremost.  Your seniors depend on the repetition and continuity of the holiday traditions to help them reach back in their memories to bring forth connections to help them join the conversations of the moment.
